This HPS Hot and Cold Side Charge Pipe Kit addresses some of the most common issues that owners eventually come across on their 6.0L Powerstroke. From cracked pipes to worn out boots, HPS has the solution to keep your truck up and running regardless of how harsh the operation conditions are—even the hottest days. The factory hot side pipe is notorious for failing at the boots as it sits in the engine bay without any reinforcements to hold it in place. This puts a lot of stress on the boots and often leads to premature failure. A custom brace is included in the kit to help mount it in place and take the pressure off of the connecting points. This kit also addresses the weak and brittle plastic cold side charge pipe that some of these 6.0L Powerstroke vehicles came with. Additionally, HPS has also engineered these pipes using mandrel-bent 6061-grade aluminum tubing to reduce weight by approximately 50%. This upgraded piping, on both hot and cold sides, also boasts performance gains as the smoother pathway improves air flow, allowing better throttle response and faster acceleration for better drivability. The stock intercooler boots are made of silicone and are reinforced with just two layers of polyester. Because the 6.0L Powerstroke engines breathe a lot of oil through the turbo, these stock parts will degrade, become soft, and eventually rip or blow through. The custom boots in this kit are designed with 4-plies of high-temperature, high-pressure, and oil-resistant silicone material that will withstand the constant flow of oil without compromising their integrity. Held in place using HPS Stainless Steel Spring-Loaded T-bolt Clamps, fluctuations in temperature do not require maintenance as they provide constant tension to accommodate for these changes. Crafted to resist corrosion, these clamps will stand up against the elements with ease.
